FINAL WORD

There are no words to recount the 16-year adventure that brought men and women face to face with the best of themselves: the desire to improve the society we live in, to give meaning to our activities, and to meet other people—people we don’t know and people who just happen to be different!

The impact Philias had over the 2000-2016 period is the result of a shared vision where economics serves mankind and society rather than the inverse. This was made possible and sustainable by the acts and willpower of thousands of individuals – from companies, associations and public authorities – as by well as their desire to do things differently and believe in it.

Philias has been the catalyst and facilitator for the values and meaning that were within each of these individuals – irrespective of their job, sector of activity or experience – and which evolved into social responsibility.

Our expertise fuelled desire and supported it by responding to everyone’s challenges and needs. It was all for single objective of letting them improve and work together, the only requirement being to push on despite the obstacles.

You can’t say Philias without saying “feel”! For more than ten years, we have made it possible for CEOs and their employees to connect their brains and their hearts, to ensure there is a place for community projects within company strategy. We are happy and proud of this.

LONG LIVE PHILIAS !

SOME ACHIEVEMENTS

Convincing 11 businesses that CSR is an issue and must be addressed in the year 2000 | Becoming a success by accepting to work for so-called “high-risk” businesses and accepting that CSR is an issue affecting all companies, which in turn need help to evolve rather than criticism | Organising the first Swiss national conference on CSR in 2003 with over 400 attendees | Gaining acknowledgement from the State of Andhra Pradesh (India) that child labour actually exists, by instituting discussions between the region’s multinationals and NGOs | Convincing the media that CSR is not a marketing ploy |  Getting dozens of CEOs to explain publicly why and how they put CSR into practice |  Convincing Human Resources Directors that disabled persons can be highly productive and add value to the business | Showing associations that businesses can do something other than just giving money | Showing businesses that associations know how to be profitable and manage teams | Turning donations into partnerships
